First Look at the Sketchbook Project

My Sketchbook

Here is a quick look at the cover of my sketchbook for The Sketchbook Project. So I signed up online to participate a couple of months ago and they sent me this book. It’s a kraft brown Moleskine and each participant was asked to make it their own. I decided to begin covering it with stickers from local businesses around Fort Worth such as Shampoo Salon, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt and J. Rae’s Cheesecakes. Mostly I’ve been trying to collect stickers I like and cover my sketchbook with them.

When I signed up, I also had to pick a theme to center my sketches around. I tried to select a rather broad theme so I picked “…you’d be home by now.” One really exciting thing about this project is that when it is complete, I’ll send back my sketchbook and it will travel with thousands of others around the country and be displayed at exhibitions. I’m excited to see how others interpret the same theme.

Got sketch ideas that relate to my theme, then leave a comment!

Hello world!

The Sketchbook Project: 2011

Hello! My name is Erica Weaver and welcome to my blog! Feel free to check out some other pages on this site like my portfolio. Being that I’m a person who needs a creative outlet, I thought this blog would be a great way to share some of the things I’ve been working on. That might include recent graphic/web design projects or it might be random things I’ve done. For instance, I love to draw and I have recently started participating in the Sketchbook Project. Expect to see some of my daily scribbles and maybe even some of my photography.
